There
is close interaction between attendings, fellows and residents
in the analysis and interpretation of the MR cases here in the
neuroradiology MR reading room. Both films and PACS are used
for neuroradiology studies, while the rest of the department
is totally filmless.
The Division of Diagnostic & Interventional
Neuroradiology holds Journal Club twice a
month following a schedule. The fellows and
researchers each prepare an article for
presentation and then each article is
discussed. The quality of the articles
presented are formally evaluated using this form. |

Maxillofacial Imaging has evolved dramatically over the last two decades with development of new cross-sectional imaging techniques in CT and MRI. Traditional maxillofacial imaging was based on plain films and dental imaging, however, today's advanced imaging techniques with CT and MRI has only been partially implemented for maxillofacial imaging. This book bridges the gap between traditional maxillofacial imaging and advanced medical imaging. We have applied CT and MRI to large number of maxillofacial cases and these are illustrated with high-quality images in multiple-planes. This book should be useful for maxillofacial radiologists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, dentists, radiologists, plastic surgeons, head and neck surgeons, and others that work with advanced maxillofacial cases.

This
book is a case-based pediatric neuroimaging atlas.
The most difficult area in MR imaging is
the pediatric brain and spine, and ironically there is no case
atlas covering this
topic specifically. We have collected typical cases of pediatric
brain and spine abnormalities of outstanding quality and
they will be
displayed in a systematic fashion in this atlas. There will
be many good quality images with a small amount of text.
This atlas will be useful for radiologists, radiology residents,
pediatricians, pediatric neurologists and general neurologists.
Publication
date is scheduled for November 2004.

Diffusion-weighted
MR Imaging of the Brain. Springer
Verlag, Heidelberg, Germany. This pioneer book on diffusion-weighted
MR imaging
in a large variety of cases has recently been published.
There
are 15 chapters ranging from basic principles to interpretation
of diffusion-weighted MR imaging and specific disease. The
book will be valuable for all involved in neuroimaging, residents,
fellows and staff as well as neurologists and neurosurgeons.
|
 |
|
The
purpose of this book is to fulfill a daily need in clinical
MR imaging, helping the radiologist and the clinician understand
diffusion-weighted MR imaging. Diffusion-weighted
MR imaging is widely accepted to identify acute infarction
but also to differentiate many other pathologic conditions.
Understanding diffusion-weighted imaging is important for radiologists,
neurologists, neurosurgeons as well as radiology technologists.
It is a basic tool in neuroimaging and there is a large void
with no books published on the subject of diffusion-weighted
imaging.
During the past four years, we have presented over 30 exhibits
and scientific reports on diffusion-weighted imaging at the RSNA and the American
Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR). More than 10 of these exhibits and presentations
have been recognized by specific awards. |
