| RE: | Termination of Film Printing |
Several weeks ago you should have received a letter from Dr. Raymond J. Mayewski explaining that the CT Section of Radiology would be terminating the printing of inpatient Body CT films as well as Emergency Department patient CT Body films. This took place on December 9, 2002.
Included in this letter was the announcement that shortly thereafter we would terminate the printing of Chest and Bone films for studies taken through Radiology’s General Imaging area and the Emergency Department’s Radiology Suite. We will implement this initiative on Monday, December 23, 2002. After that time the primary medium for viewing films by non-radiology staff will be with vNetix, the web-based radiograph viewing software available to SMH physicians. If you have not yet completed your vNetix training, then please contact Mary Thomas, RT, for the upcoming training schedule. She can be reached via e-mail at the following address: Mary_Thomas@urmc.rochester.edu.
Should it be necessary for you to have hardcopy films printed for review during Operating Room procedures, then please use the attached form to request desired studies to be printed. We request that you give the Radiology Film Library at least 24 hours prior notice for print requests for scheduled Operating Room cases.
For assistance with film printing requests, please contact the Radiology Film Library at x5-5368 (if phone call is not answered during overnight shifts, please page x5-1616, ID # 7275).
Should you have further questions about this procedural change, please contact Chris Le Feber, Manager of Records and Data for the Department of Radiology (x3-4429), or Connie White, Operations Director for the Department of Radiology (x5-5641). Thank you.
