Chonghua Wan, Ph.D.

Visiting Professor


I received my Masters degree in Health Administration from La Trobe University, Australia in 2002; Ph.D. from Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences in 1997; and Masters degree in Medicine from West China University of Medical Sciences in 1988. At present, I am Deputy Dean of Faculty of Public Health and Professor of Biostatistics and Health Economics at Kunming Medical College, Yunnan, China. And also I am a visiting professor at University of Rochester.

I have carried out research on statistical methods of birth defects monitoring, women's reproductive tract infections (RTIs) and STDs, methods of measurement and assessment of quality of life, development of QOL instruments for patients with cancer and chronic disease, behavioral surveillance surveys and interference for HIV/AIDS, health resource allocation and health regional planning, and co-operative medicine system in rural China. My research interests cover Biostatistics, Health informatics, Health economics, Epidemiology, Health management and health policy, Reproductive health, Quality of life, and AIDS.
