Keith Bourgeois Senior Systems Analyst / Programmer

As a member of the programming core my time is divided between clinical research trials, scientific programming, network administration and information technology support to the department.

My current major collaboration is with The Center for Biophysical Assessment and Risk Management Following Radiation. I am a member of an international team working in order to develop medical countermeasures to radiological terrorism. The Center housed here at the University is one of 8 NIH/NIAID funded centers throughout the United States. The particular work I am performing is on radiologic risk assessment and intervention.

The clinical functions I perform include data management, error checking, and the generation of safety monitoring reports. My current large scale clinical project is with the Huntington’s Disease Study Group called Neurological Predictors of Huntington’s Disease (PREDICT-HD). I also am involved with the Parkinson's and HIV Disease Study Groups which generate other large scale clinical trials.

I also act as technical advisor to the Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation in conjunction with an MDS patient registry and follow up project and The James P. Wilmot Cancer Center.

I also am the administrator and information technology support for our area wide Windows network. These include, The Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology, The Center for Biodefense Immune Modeling, The Division of Biomedical Modeling and Informatics, The Division of Psychiatric Statistics and the newly created New York Influenza Center of Excellence. This includes web server administration, maintenance and security.

I obtained my Silver Global Security Certification (GSEC) from the SANS Security Institute in 2007 and my Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Imaging Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1992.
