FILE & DATA STORAGE Guidelines RULE1: Never store any of your data on your local C: drive! RULE2: Always store your data on BIO2. These are the most important things you have to keep in mind here in Biostatistics. We store many files here and without organization there is no doubt that many files will get lost. You can locate BIO2 by using your Windows Explorer (right click on your Start button then left click on Explore). Then click on My Network Places --> Entire Network --> Microsoft Windows Network --> Biostats --> Bio2. It is here that you will find all of the project folders which are currently active. By storing your data and files on Bio2 you are assured that your data will be backed up. In case of an emergency we will be able to retrive all your files. Also, by using Bio2, you are assuring others who need to access your project files can get to them. We run a dual platform UNIX/PC hybrid network here in Biostatistics and with this centalized file sharing we keep information accessability to a maximum. |
