Statistical Education for Medical ProfessionalsThree courses in biostatistical methods (BST 463 Introduction to Biostatistics, BST 464 Applied Linear Regression, BST 466 Categorical Data Analysis) and one course on clinical trial design ((BST465 Design of Clinical Trials) are offered for graduate students (including those enrolled in the MPH program), fellows and other researchers in the Medical Center.
Computing EnvironmentUp-to-date computer hardware and software are available to support biostatistical research and consulting. The Department operates a network of Sun workstations running the Solaris (Unix) operating system, PC's running RedHat Linux, and PC's running Windows XP Pro in the Windows 2003 Active Directory environment. A full range of supporting hardware and peripherals is available. Statistical software includes SAS, S-Plus, Minitab, Mathematica, StatXact, Matlab, and PEST.
