How do I register for the conferences?
Conference registration is accomplished via an online registration
form linked to under the conferences page listed on the left side
navigation bar. Typically the conference registration page is made
available about 1-2 months in advance of the conference date. To register
select the conferences link on the left of this page. Select the conference
for which you wish to register. Complete the registration form and
click submit. An email confirming your attendance will be sent to
you within a week of your registration.
What are the dates of the Summer conference?
Where is the Summer conference?
The 2002 MACH 2010 Summer conference will be held June 6th and
7th , 2002 at the Sheraton in Syracuse, NY.
Where can I find information about past MACH 2010 conferences?
A listing of past MACH 2010 conference, including speaker bios,
presentation topics, presentations, and agendas, can be found on the
MACH 2010 conferences page. To obtain more information about a given
MACH conference please select the conferences link on the left side
of this page. Click the specific conference which you are interested
in.
Who is allowed to attend the conferences?
Attendance at the first day of the Summer MACH conference is open
to all although priority is given to those currently enrolled in the
MACH 2010 program. All others will be admitted in the priorities listed
below.
1. Current MACH 2010 Students and Agency Sponsors
2. Grantors, MACH Advisory Board Members, and Past Speakers
3. Past MACH 2010 Students and Agency Sponsors
4. All other attendees
Attendance on the second day of the Summer conference is restricted
to current MACH 2010 students only.
Attendance at the Fall MACH conference is restricted to current MACH
2010 students and selected graduate students from the University of
Rochester. While a very small number of visitor spots are sometimes
available, these are distributed solely at the discretion of our program
director. If you are not a current student and yet wish to attend
the Fall conference please send an email detailing your reasons to
the MACH 2010 program director, Tim Dye.
How many modules should I have completed before arriving at the conference?
MACH 2010 students attending the Summer conference should have
at least completed up to module four prior to arriving. This ensures
student will gain maximum benefit from the second conference day which
addresses some advanced uses of Epi Info. While there is no penalty
for failing to complete module three prior to the conference we strongly
encourage people not to get too far behind their fellow students.
Are there any fees associated with attending conference?
Summer conference attendance is free for all those who wish to
attend. Priority is given to currently registered MACH students.
The MACH 2010 program pays the conference fees (food, lodging, travel,...)
for all currently registered MACH 2010 students as well as for speakers
and moderators.
Is there any penalty for MACH students not attending the Summer or
Fall conference?
No, but we strongly encourage all students to attend. If you are
unable to attend please contact your TA or instructor in advance and
we'll arrange to have conference materials mailed to you.
How do I get travel directions to the conference venue?
As the conference venues may sometimes change we suggest the use
of an automated mapping service to obtain maps or driving directions.

When will the dates for the Fall conference be established?
The dates for the Fall conference will determined within a month
of the closing of the Summer conference. Typically the Fall conference
is held in October or November.
What expenses are covered by MACH 2010?
The MACH 2010 program covers all documented expenses (food, lodging,
and travel) for all currently registered MACH 2010 students as well
as for speakers and moderators. Receipts must be obtained for any
reimbursement over $25 US. Please note that, as a Federally funded
program, we are not able to cover or reimburse any alcohol purchases.
How do I apply for reimbursement from MACH 2010?
During, before, and after the conference please collect receipts
for any expense incurred as a result of your attendance. When you
have returned to your host agency write a brief letter to our program
secretary (Karen Green) detailing your expenses and explaining any
ambiguous receipts on your record. If all your individual expenses
are less than $25 you may simply email Karen. A detailed explanation
of the reimbursement procedure will be distributed on the first day
of the Summer conference.
