MACH 2010

Help Area : Course Help : Course Overview

The MACH 2010 course is broken into seven graded modules each addressing a different topic in maternal and child health. To simplify navigation all the MACH modules are similarly structured. Each begins with a pretest followed by a lecture, readings, homework, web work, project assignment, and is complete only once the module posttest has been submitted. The pretest must be complete before you attempt to access any of a module's materials (lecture, homework,...) and the posttest must be completed prior to starting the next module.

New MACH 2010 modules are released roughly once a month with breaks prior to the two scheduled conferences. While you may visit the Home Page of any released module you must not open any module materials, complete any tests or submit evaluations until you have finished with all the previous modules.

Please Note: Once you go beyond the Home Page of any module we can no longer accept work, tests, or assignments from any
prior module. Contact MACH 2010 Technical Support if you have questions about this rule.

Pretests and Posttests
At the outset of each module you will complete a pretest. The pretest must be completed before you can progress through the rest of the module. At the close of the module, you will complete a posttest followed by a brief evaluation of the module's content. Please be sure you have completed the pretest, posttest, and module evaluation before attempting to move on to the next module. You can work at your own pace and in the order that best suits your needs, but ALL work must be completed before you begin next module.

Before you start working on the first MACH 2010 module you must complete the Master Pretest. Similarly, before you can receive your certificate of course completion (at the end of the course) you must take the Master Posttest. The master tests are largely similar in format to the module tests (i.e., 10 questions, multiple choice,...) except that they are ungraded and do not contribute to your course mark. The Master Pretest can be accessed by selecting the link marked "Master Pretest". Access to the Master Posttest will be restricted until the class has begun the last course module.
