MACH 2010

Instructors / Teaching Assistants

At the outset of the MACH 2010 program each student is assigned one instructor and one teaching assistant. The program instructors are responsible for grading your course work and tests while the teaching assistants (TA) field questions regarding the course, help review your work prior to submission, and generally assist students with any problems they might be having.

Whenever you complete an assignment you may either send it to your TA for review or send it directly to your instructor for grading (tests are always sent directly to your instructor). For instructions on submitting work for review or for grading please consult the instructions at the bottom of this page.

How do I submit course assignments for review or grading?

Who are the course instructors and what do they do?
All MACH 2010 course work grading will be done by the course's two instructors: Tim Dye and Ann Dozier. All work intended for grading should be submitted, by e-mail, to your assigned instructor.

Who are the course teaching assistants and what do they do?
The two MACH 2010 teaching assistants, Barbara Suter and Adam Rains, are always available to review your work (not tests) prior to submission. Barbara and Adam can give you advice regarding the clarity of your work, suggest needed corrections, help you with the submission process, and help you refine your responses. Please note that work reviewed by Barbara and Adam must still be submitted to your instructor for grading.

Who is my assigned instructor and/or teaching assistant?
Your assigned instructor and TA are listed in the e-mail containing your MACH 2010 login and password. If you do not have this e-mail please click below to see a list of students and their assigned teachers/TAs. Alternately, you may e-mail a request for this information to MACH 2010 technical support.

How do I submit a test (for grading)?
At the start and end of each course module you must complete a series of 10 multiple-choice questions. The questions, worth 10 points each, relate to material from that module's lecture and readings. Simply type your name at the top of the test page and mark a response for each question. When you have completed the test click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page. Your mark will be emailed back to you as soon as the test has been graded (usually <24hrs). Please note that Master Pretests and Module Evaluations are not corrected (simply submit them and continue on).

How do I submit an assignment (for grading or review)?
To submit an assignment for review simply compose a blank email to your teaching assistant, attach the file(s) you wish them to review, and send. When they return their comments you may alter your original assignment and resubmit it for further review (TA) or for grading

To submit an assignment for grading simply compose a blank email to your instructor, attach the file(s) you want graded, and send. All assignment submissions are final unless your instructor asks you to redo or rework your submission.

Please Note:
All assignments intended for grading by instructors (or for review by TAs) must be sent via e-mail. To ensure that the submission process goes smoothly and that your work will be in a format that is easily readable please follow assignment instructions carefully. If you have any additional questions regarding formatting, saving, or emailing of your work please review our "Help Area" pages or contact Adam Rains directly.
