Module Seven : Web Work
Please note that this Web
Work assignment is similar to,
but not the same as, this module's Project assignment.
In this Module's lecture you learned the basics of identifying policies
and policymakers. The Web Work assignment for module seven will expand
on what you have been taught with a mini-lecture on identifying relevant
policy resources. These resources include databases, lists of policymakers,
examples of strategies to change policy, public opinion polls, policy
alerts and much more.
You will use the mini-lecture (and the links it contains) to locate
2 policies or information resources which pertain to the control of
lead poisoning in US children.
1. Download Lecture and Read
The mini-lecture notes may be downloaded/viewed by clicking

by pressing Ctrl-D or by going to the Bookmark menu and selecting
"Add Bookmark"
- In MS Internet Explorer you can add a web page to your "Favorites

3. Locate Resources
Using the resources covered in the mini-lecture notes identify
2 policies or information sources which relate to the prevention
or control of childhood lead poisoning in the US.
4. Submit Work
For each of the two sources you located in the previous 3 steps
answer the following questions:
- Cite the Source (be as specific as possible and include
the web address if possible)
- Write a Summary (write a 1 paragraph summary of the source
in your own words)
- Describe the Source (describe how this policy or data
source relates to childhood lead poisoning and how it might achieve
the goal of reducing the impact of this problem)
Write up your responses and e-mail them to your teacher or TA.
