Module Two is an introduction to the basic building blocks of maternal and child health data: operationalization and measurement. Please do not start Module Two until you have completed Module One.

The objectives for this module are for students to learn to:

  1. Understand and provide examples of the conceptualization and operationalization processes.
  2. Identify and describe four types of variables.
  3. Define values and how they are related to analysis.
  4. Understand the development of indicators in maternal and child health.

To complete this module, students need to finish the following:

  • Pretest for Module Two
  • Lecture
  • Readings
  • Homework
  • Web Work
  • Project
  • Posttest for Module Two
  • Module Two Evaluation

You can print this checklist to help keep track of your progress.

As in module one, the module two pretest must be taken before you access other components of the module. After completing the Pretest, students can progress through the module at their own pace. All module two materials must be completed before beginning the next module.

Students should contact their TA if they have any questions. Note that you may contact MACH technical support or your TA at any time by selecting the link "Instructors" at the top of the navigation bar on your left.
