Module Two : Project

Your project assignment for Module Two is to select and discuss three evaluation points that relate to the Project you began in Module One.

Since the points you select will depend on what you are attempting to evaluate (i.e., what your research question is) you should take a moment to consider what it is about your program / service you wish to know. It may help to start from what you already know about your program or to consider what others (like funders) might want to know. It might also be beneficial to refer back to the program/service diagram and project assignment you created in the last module.

Using the sample project offered in Module One, the Central Prenatal Care Coordination, three possible evaluation points could be:

  1. Who enrolls in the program?
  2. Which women at risk are more likely to receive referrals?
  3. What are the birth outcomes among participants?

Detailed Project Directions:

In a new word processing document,

  • Pick three evaluation points from the Project Assignment you completed in Module One.
  • For each of these three project points selected from your Module One assignment, write a sentence or two about the concepts they relate to. Refer to slides 3, 4 and 5 of the Module Two lecture.
  • For each of the three evaluation points selected from your Module One assignment, consider what variables you might construct. Choose one variable to measure each point.
  • Describe the measure (what it is).
  • Identify what type of measure it is (categorical, continuous, ordinal, text). Refer to slides 9 and 10 of the Module Two lecture.
