MACH 2010

Module One : Project

The MACH 2010 module projects focus on the evaluation of a program or service offered by your agency. Since the project work for each module will build upon the assignments from previous modules please choose a program or service with which you are relatively familiar. If no suitable program or service exists at your agency please contact your teaching assistant or instructor for guidance.

The assignment for Module One is to write a brief description of a program or service offered by your agency.

It may be helpful, for this and future project assignments, to create a diagram (see Module One lecture:slide 19) of the program or service you are investigating. This will help you visualize your program/service and help identify potential evaluation points. Since you will begin setting up an evalution of your program or service in the next module you may want to start thinking of a research question which relates to your topic now.

1. Select a program or service you wish to evaluate
2. Referring to the Module One lecture slides answer the following questions (in a word processing document) regarding your chosen program or service:

  • What is the name of the program or service?
  • What does the program or service aim to do?
  • How do people get into the program or receive the service?
  • What happens once they are in the program or service?
  • What kinds of data are collected?
  • What happens to the data (filed, entered into a database, used for program purposes)?
  • What happens to people throughout their participation in the program or service? (it may help to draw a diagram)
  • How people close out from the program/service?

3. When you are done answering these questions please save your responses and forward the document (as an email attachment) to your teaching assistant or instructor.
