American Heart Association Heartsaver AED

Course Description
The Heartsaver AED Course teaches the basic techniques of adult CPR and use of an AED. Students also learn to use barrier devices in CPR and give first aid for choking in the responsive victim. The course teaches how to recognize the signs of 4 major emergencies: heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction.

Audience
All lay rescuers with a duty to respond such as firefighters, police airline personnel, security guards, and employees in the work place; family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death; other lay rescuers who may need to respond to a cardiac emergency
