Producing Slides/Posters/Etc

How do I produce slides, posters, or overheads that are being produced for a course?

Faculty members or staff can bring prepared slide presentations (as hard copies or PowerPoint files), posters and (as PowerPoint or MS Word files) to the Offices for Educational Resources. The OER staff will arrange with either Medical Center Graphics or Photography to create the slides or posters.

Prepared overheads can be submitted as hard copies, MS Word, or PowerPoint and can be copied in the OER. In addition, hard copies of materials can be made into overheads through the Medical Center Copy Center.

How are these paid for?

When arranged for directly through the OER, the OER will pay for slides, posters and overheads. If you choose to use the Copy Center to make your overheads and they are for a course, please ask that the OER card for your course be charged for the overheads you are making. You will be asked by Copy Center staff to sign a logbook that verifies that the items you are copying are course related. If you choose to work directly with the Graphics or Photography departments to these materials and wish to have them paid for by OER, you must first obtain approval from Ann Mankowski, at x5-7666, or e-mail Ann_Mankowski@urmc.rochester.edu.

How long does it take?

Slides and posters take at least 1 to 2 days to produce. Overheads can be made on the spot.

How can I produce multistations?

Multistations can be produced as posters (see above) or by using poster board, pictures and real x-rays or photos. All services can be arranged for and paid for by the OER.
