Interview Information

Evening Before Interview: Applicants enjoy dinner with several residents the night before the interview. (Spouses are welcome.)

Morning: The next morning, applicants attend morning conference, and then meet with the Department Chair (James Robotham, M.D., F.R.C.A.), Program Director (Stewart Lustik, M.D., M.B.A.) and a faculty member of the Resident Selection Committee. During the interview visit, applicants will also spend time with residents in the operating rooms and at lunch.

Afternoon: The Resident Selection Committee meets at the end of each interview day and again in February to review interviewed applicants. Each applicant is reviewed based on medical school performance and/or residency experience, and personal qualities. Written comments supplement the applicant's ranking. All applicants are carefully considered without regard to age, sex, race, color, creed, and sexual orientation and national or ethnic origin.

In February, the committee determines the final ranking. Medical student applicants enter our residency through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
