Program DetailsThe Anesthesiology Residency Program in is a rich experience. For one, it's grounded in the practical: Each year, about 30,000 anesthesias are administered at Strong Memorial Hospital and its affiliates. Residents get a comprehensive grounding in clinical care, didactics, and clinical and basic research. There's good access to educational media and resources. Faculty members, trained in a variety of U.S. settings, offer diverse approaches to the art and science of anesthesiology. Instruction is individualized and productive: 100% of our graduates from the last two years passed the written American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) exam on their first attempt. Clinical competency throughout the program is measured by ABA standards. ABA-recommended attributes are also cultivated. These include ethical behavior, reliability, conscientiousness, responsibility, adaptability, communication skills, and a commitment to continuing education. During their three years of training, residents are part of a caring and stable environment. They're treated like colleagues and friends by attending staff and faculty experts.
