Pain Management Fellowship (ACGME)Director: Rajbala Thakur, M.D.The ACGME accredited fellowship
in Pain Management consists of a
12-month period of training in
which the fellow will participate in
patient care on both the outpatient
and inpatient pain management
services. The fellow will become
skilled in the evaluation and treatment
of acute, chronic, and cancer
pain. The opportunity exists to learn
how to organize and establish an
acute pain management service
and/or chronic pain management
clinic. The Outpatient Pain
Management Facility is a multi-disciplinary
clinic, which includes anesthesiologists,
nurse practitioners and
clinical psychologists on staff.
Fellows get to work in close collaboration
with orthopedic surgeons,
neurosurgeons, neurologists, gynecologists,
urologists and a multitude
of other specialists involved in pain
management.
