The Department of Emergency Medicine at URMC ranked #2 for National Institutes of Health 2008 Funding! residents

CONGRATULATIONS to Latha Stead, MD for receiving the first ever 2008 EMRA mentorship award, and Jeremy Cushman, MD for being elected to the NY ACEP Board of Directors, a prestigious position that works on the policy aspects of emergency medicine at the state and national level. CONGRATULATIONS, also, to Terry Fairbanks, MD, the 2008 recipient of the Young Investigator's Award.

Our well-established three-year program is fully accredited by the ACGME. We accepted our first class of eight residents in 1994. The program grew to 10 residents in 2001. With rapid growth in patient volume, we were approved for 12 residents in 2004.

During your residency at the University of Rochester, you will work closely with energetic full-time faculty members who are dedicated to helping you prepare for your future in the profession.
