Emergency National Recognition CONGRATULATIONS to Latha Stead, MD for receiving the first ever 2008 EMRA mentorship award, and Jeremy Cushman, MD for being elected to the NY ACEP Board of Directors, a prestigious position that works on the policy aspects of emergency medicine at the state and national level. CONGRATULATIONS, also, to Terry Fairbanks, MD, the 2008 recipient of the Young Investigator's Award. The Department of Emergency Medicine is a full academic Department at the University. The program grew to 10 residents in 2001. With rapid growth in patient volume, we were approved for 12 residents in 2004. Our program offers a unique blend of excellence in teaching and rigorous academic standards, a well-balanced and complete curriculum, a wide range of hand-on experiences, and a supportive and friendly environment.
