Our Program...

The Department of Emergency Medicine is a full academic Department at the University.

Our well-established three-year program is fully accredited by the ACGME. We accepted our first class of eight residents in 1994. The program grew to 10 residents in 2001. With rapid growth in patient volume, we were approved for 12 residents in 2004.

During your residency at the University of Rochester, you will work closely with energetic full-time faculty members who are dedicated to helping you prepare for your future in the profession.

Our program offers a unique blend of excellence in teaching and rigorous academic standards, a well-balanced and complete curriculum, a wide range of hand-on experiences, and a supportive and friendly environment.

We look forward to meeting with you and having the opportunity to provide you with complete details on our quality training program. In the meantime, please take the opportunity to review the information on our web site. And feel free to contact us with any specific questions you may have.
