  • Train Emergency Physicians to a high level of clinical competence in the evaluation picnicand treatment of patients of all ages who present to the Emergency Department.
  • Train Emergency Physicians to effectively manage and prioritize the care of multiple patients.
  • Develop effective interpersonal and communication skills through patient care, staff, and multidisciplinary interactions.
  • Develop an awareness of the cost-effective and time-efficient use of diagnostic studies in emergency medicine while maintaining quality of care.
  • Develop an understanding of how to provide optimal patient care within the larger health care system.
  • Develop awareness of aspects of preventive medicine, which impact on emergency medicine.

  • Identify potential academic leaders in the field of Emergency Medicine and support their development.
