Applicant Information

General Information

Through the combined efforts of a nationally recognized faculty and exemplary staff, we provide personal attention to each of our residents and resident applicants.

We require an application through the San Francisco Match Program. This is a computerized nationwide service which makes the application process not only much easier for you, but for your references, and the programs as well. The San Francisco Match Program can be reached at: (415) 447-0350, via their website at www.sfmatch.org.

We require a minimum USMLE score of 220 and three letters of recommendation. There is no requirement regarding length of time since medical school graduation.

International Applicants

Prior clinical experience in the United States is not required for international students to apply.

It is the responsibility of the individual to secure the proper visa. The only acceptable status is an ECFMG sponsored J-1 visa. We also recognize "green cards." University of Rochester policy does not permit H-1 or H-1b visas.
