Faculty Information

Over the past five years, nine outstanding clinical faculty have been recruited to our Department.  Together, the clinical faculty have fostered subspecialty clinical programs that cover every facet of contemporary neurosurgery, including:

            general neurosurgery
            complex and minimally invasive spinal neurosurgery
            cerebrovascular (open/endovascular) and skull base surgery
            neuro-endocrine surgery
            neuro-oncologic surgery
            radiosurgery (cranial and spinal)
            pediatric neurosurgery
            functional and restorative neurosurgery
            pain management
            peripheral nerve surgery
            trauma neurosurgery and criticial care neurosurgery

The Department has also been instrumental in developing a citywide program for the delivery of neurosurgical care at all the hospitals in the Rochester area, and has developed outreach clinics staffed by the faculty throughout western New York.  Residents only train at URMC, but their training is enriched by the increased patient and case volume generated by the Department’s efforts to provide a regional vision for Neuroscience Medicine.
