Educational Objectives/Rotations

There are 24 two-week rotations, in addition to a two-week orientation and a two-week holiday assignment. Orientation week is designed to orient the new residents to the institution and department, to orient other residents to their new roles, and to allow the graduating residents time to study for the written board examination. During the December-January holiday period, there is a holiday assignment incorporating several days of unassigned time.

There is a night float system at each hospital.

There are 4 weeks of vacation during each year of training, including one week of vacation during the final year set aside for job interviewing.

In the table, the color identifies the total length of the rotation: grey represents 3 two-week blocks, blue represents 2 two-week blocks and green represents 1 two-week block.
