R4 ObjectivesDay FloatThe day float rotation is six to seven weeks in length. During this time the R4 is available on an as needed basis to cover L&D, OR cases and ambulatory services. The R4 takes call once a week at HH and two Saturdays at SMH with post-call days completely free of clinical duties. When the Float’s services are not needed, time is used to complete research projects, engage in independent learning, and prepare for Written Boards examination. The Day Float gains knowledge in working independently and being flexible. Educational objectives will vary depending on the coverage needed and may be found in the individual descriptions of the rotation being covered. |
