Twenty-four 2-week blocks (excluding orientation and holiday).

 

Night Call Responsibilities

A night float system is in place at Strong Memorial Hospital and Highland Hospital. Residents at each level participate in the night float team for three 2-week blocks at Strong Memorial Hospital. Overall, call is at most Q7. At Highland Hospital, call is shared with Family Medicine residents and varies by year. The night float system covers both obstetrics and gynecology; therefore, there is no separate call for the gynecology service.

 

Holiday Float System

A holiday float system is in place with residents splitting the holidays at both Strong and Highland Hospitals so each half of the housestaff receives either Christmas or New Year's off.
