Benefits

The University of Rochester benefits include medical insurance, dental coverage, malpractice, disability, and life insurance. The Department allows for four weeks of paid vacation per year. Maternity leave is paid in according to government and university policies. Leaves of absence will be made up as needed per RRC and ACOG guidelines. Summary of Benefits

Lab Coats—Embroidery and Laundering

The Graduate Medical Education (GME) office provides each resident with three lab coats annually. Embroidery is taken care of through the OB/GYN Residency Education Office. Residents are responsible for laundering their own coats.

Meals

Residents are provided with $7 on their meal card (hospital ID) per night call.

Vacation

  • R4—3 weeks, 1 week for interviewing (4 weeks total)

Xerographic Copies

Residents receive $40 worth of copying per year on their hospital ID.

Health Insurance Plans

Residents, their spouses, approved domestic partners/sam-sex legal spouse, and qualified unmarried dependent children are eligible for coverage by one of the four University Health Care Plans. Health Care Plans for Strong Memorial Hospital residents begins on the date of appointment.

Dental Plans

There are two options available for Strong Memorial Hospital residents. The Traditional Dental Assistance Plan is available upon appointment. Assists with preventive, as well as, basic and major restorative dental expenses. The Medallion Dental Plan is offered during the open enrollment period held each fall for coverage effective the following January 1. This plan provides a higher schedule of benefits; trainees contribute a share of the premium.
