Program Overview
The Graduate Medical Education in Pathology Program at the University
of Rochester Medical Center provides exposure to and experience
in all major disciplines of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
while maintaining sufficient flexibility to allow individual
trainees to pursue further studies in areas of special interest.
Such flexibility permits individualized training for future
pathology practice in either academic or community settings.
On October 7, 2009, we received notification that the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education awarded our Pathology residency program a full five-year accreditation cycle. We are very proud of this prestigious recognition.
Schedules
Pathology trainees work fixed hours and do not have in-house on call responsibilities. Residents receive a laptop computer to help facilitate their work through the online laboratory info system.
