Program Overview
The Pediatric Neurology Unit provides neurological consultation and
care to children from the greater Rochester area and throughout western
and upstate New York. Our primary faculty includes 6 pediatric
neurologists and a pediatric neuropsychologist. Our professional
staff also includes 4 pediatric nurse practitioners, a registered
nurse, and a social worker. Other Department of Neurology faculty
members provide care to children with neurological disorders and participate
actively in our training program. Similarly, Department of Pediatrics
faculty members contribute substantially to our training program.
The Pediatric Neurology Service covers 72 pediatric beds, 22 pediatric intensive
care unit beds, and 52 neonatal intensive care unit bassinets. Each month the
service admits 20 - 30 children and evaluates and follows 30 to 40 consults.
Approximately 100 outpatients are evaluated each week.
