Welcome to the Department of Surgery at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and the Strong Health system.

The Department of Surgery is proud of its long tradition of providing the world's finest clinical care integrated with a strong heritage in basic and clinical science investigation, and excellence in education. The Department of Surgery's efforts represent that of almost 300 faculty, residents, physicians, scientists, nurses, staff and trainees working in concert to help patients.

Mission Statement

The Department of Surgery's mission is:
