Program Pathways

Advanced Degrees

The Department of Surgery offers a Ph.D. program in the basic sciences. This unique program follows a customized a curriculum in conjunction with the University of Rochester Medical Center's departments of pharmacology, physiology, pathology, biochemistry and biophysics. Candidates will be mentored in a doctoral program that lasts from three to four years.

Also available is a Master's of Clinical Research degree that benefits residents interested in a clinical investigations career. The program concentrates on clinical research investigations that involve biostatistics, epidemiology and study design.

For residents seeking training opportunities in health care finance, courses are available at the University's William E. Simon School of Business Administration, which offers a Master of Public Health degree.
