Welcome from the DirectorThe General Surgery Residency Program is designed to develop exceptional, well-rounded, professionally sought-after leaders in surgery. Our integrated five-year training program offers a unique combination of surgical practice, basic science and clinical research that emphasizes excellence in all aspects of patient care. All of our graduates have been exposed to basic science, clinical investigation and practical experience — leading to improved surgical practices and the most effective care a patient could hope for. I'm delighted to be associated with this fine program, and I'm confident you will be too. Our program is thorough and our standards are rigorous. But the men and women who satisfactorily complete our General Surgery Residency Program are commonly recognized as being among the finest surgeons in the United States. If there is anything you would like to know more about, or if you have any questions, after examining the information that's provided here, please contact our Program Administrator Amy Mills at (585) 275-2723 or Amy_Mills@urmc.rochester.edu.
