Research and Faculty

The Department of Surgery also has experienced rapid growth with over a 30 percent increase in clinical activity in the last two years. The research activities of the Department have rapidly expanded with the establishment of five basic science translational research cores. The cores are in:

  • vascular biology
  • gastrointestinal biology
  • cancer biology
  • immunology/injury response
  • neurotology
