Monroe Community Hospital Training Program

Monroe Community Hospital (MCH), located approximately one and a half miles from the Medical Center, is a county-operated institution for the care of patients incapacitated by problems associated with aging and chronic illness. It consists of three licensed levels of inpatient care (hospital, skilled nursing, and health related).

The third-year urology residents (PGY-4) provide inpatient consult coverage at MCH, run a weekly urologic clinic, and perform operative and diagnostic procedures for these patients ar Strong Memorial Hospital. The MCH patients often have co-existing disabilities and medical problems, which present many challenges to diagnostic and thereutic interventions. The residents gain significant urological experience and judgement in providing care to the MCH patient population, especially in the areas of incontinence and neurogenic urologic problems.
