Re: Nominations sought for Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Education
Date: May 7, 2008
As has been previously announced, Dr. Paul LaCelle will be stepping down from his position of Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Education at the end of this academic year. Under Dr. LaCelle’s leadership, the graduate education program at the School of Medicine and Dentistry has grown substantially in size, quality and recognition.
The next Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Education will build on a superb program and have the opportunity to incorporate the continued growth in graduate education that will occur under the Strategic Plan.
In recent months, we convened a committee of faculty involved in graduate education, chaired by Tom Gasiewicz, PhD, to evaluate the present status of graduate education and to make recommendations for the future. Included in their report were recommendations regarding the next Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Education. A search committee for this position is being formed. This committee, which will conduct a search of internal candidates, will be chaired by Robert Dirksen, PhD.
Nominations are invited for Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Education. Please submit names of potential candidates to Dr. Dirksen (global email).
