The program director is Dr. Edith Lord. She is a Professor of
Microbiology and Immunology and Oncology, and has been on the faculty
of the URMC since 1976. She has extensive experience in mentoring and
supervising undergraduate and graduate students and other trainees
including several minority students.
Dr. Lord has served on
numerous NIH grant review panels including ones for trainee grant
applications. Her laboratory is supported by NIH-funded awards for
immunology and oncology research. She is also the Director of a NIH
pre- and post-doctoral training program in Immunology. In
addition, she is the Director of the Immunology, Microbiology and
Virology Graduate Cluster.
