University of Rochester - Medical Scientist Training Program

MD/PhD Student Council

The student council for the MD/PhD students strives to provide support for social and scholastic activities, promote interaction among students, and act as a liaison between the MSTP and its students. It is composed of several officers, including a president, an admissions chair, a social chair, and an events chair. Regular meetings are held with the entire MD/PhD student body, to keep the students informed of all council activities, and to elicit any feedback for the council or the program. Additionally, the council sponsors a lecture series during the school year, organizes several social events a semester, handles recruitment at all applicant and accepted student events, and assists with newsletter preparation. Each year at the annual retreat the council is elected for the following year. Anyone seeking more information should feel free to contact our current student council president, Susan Lee.
