ANA 501 Histology
Associate Professor Stevens and staff
Credit: variable
This course in microscopic anatomy emphasizes correlating structure with function.
The course includes hands-on laboratory sessions during which fixed specimens,
prepared by a variety of methods, are examined with a microscope. Information
derived by newer techniques (scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron
microscopy, immuno-cytochemistry, stereology, autoradiography, etc.) are introduced
where appropriate. The course uses a variety of teaching formats: lecture, small-group
conferences, clinical correlation exercises, and clinical case-based sessions.
Examinations include both written and laboratory practical parts . (planned for spring)
