Helene McMurray is a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Biomedical Genetics. She received her Ph.D. from URMC, Department of Microbiology and Immunology in 2003. Her work integrates traditional genetic methods with systems biology approaches, to study the mechanisms by which oncogenic mutations cooperate to transform cells. She is married, with a 5 year old son. After 9 years in Rochester, she has finally given up and learned to cross-country ski and showshoe, rather than just hibernate for 3 months of the year. She can be reached at Helene_McMurray@urmc.rochester.edu.

Tara Anne Bullard is a post-doctoral fellow in the Center for Oral Biology. She received her Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Department of Cell and Developmental Biology and Anatomy in 2004. Her research combines confocal microscopy with transgenic mouse models to study the role of transcription factors in salivary gland development and regeneration. Her other interests include quilting, making home made jams and jellies, traveling and studying foreign languages. She can be reached at Tara_Bullard@urmc.rochester.edu

Mirka Uhlirova is a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Biomedical Genetics. She received her Ph.D. from the University of South Bohemia, Czech Republic, Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry in 2004. Her research combines fruitfly genetics and molecular tools to understand how complex signaling and regulatory circuits required for proper development become corrupted during malignant transformation. When not in the lab, she enjoys outdoor activities, traveling and good food when somebody else is cooking. One thing she does not complain that much is Rochester weather. She can be reached at Mirka_Uhlirova@urmc.rochester.edu.

Liam Casey came to Rochester from New York City and obtained his PhD in the Biology Department at the University of Rochester in 2003. Choosing to remain in Rochester for personal and professional reasons he then worked as an NIH postdoctoral trainee studying the role of Notch signaling in epithelial development in the Center for Oral Biology. Currently he is a studying the regulation of G-protein coupled receptor signaling in heart failure as a post-doctoral fellow in the Cardiovascular Research Institute. He can be reached at Liam_Casey@urmc.rochester.edu
