Uma Aggarwal, M.D., clinical associate professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She graduated from the Government Medical College in Patiala, Punjab India. Dr. Aggarwal did her residency training in PM&R at Strong Memorial Hospital. She is Board Certified in PM&R and electrodiagnostic medicine. Dr. Aggarwal received the Elkin’s Award from the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for the highest score on the written examination. Her research interests are in areas of stroke rehabilitation and electrodiagnostic medicine. She became the medical director of PM&R at Rochester General Hospital in 1996. Prior to that, she served as the medical director at Monroe Community Hospital from 1987. In addition, she also serves as the medical director at Rochester Rehabilitation Center, a CARF accredited, CORF program since 1999. In addition to her medical practice at Rochester General Hospital, she also teaches several courses for rehab residents at Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr. Aggarwal also has an EMG clinic at Brockport one half day per week where she provides consultations. She has been a Guest Oral Examiner for The American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation since 1995. She has been a member of the Quality Improvement Committee at Rochester General Hospital for the Acute Rehab Unit since 1997. She is a Fellow Member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Aggarwal is also a Business Associate of the Preferred Care, Surgical Advisory Team. She has presented Posters at National meetings.
