Jean L. Nickels, M.D.

Biography
  D. Nickels received her M.D. degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1989. She completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York in 1993. Dr. Nickels is board certified in PM&R. Dr. Nickels worked as an attending Physician at Monroe Community Hospital Acute Rehabilitation Unit and performed nerve conduction studies and electromyography at Jones Memorial Hospital until 1996. She then began work as an attending at Rochester General Hospital's Acute Rehabilitation Unit. Dr. Nickels actively participates in the Residency Education Committee for the Division of PM&R at the University of Rochester. She is involved in residency teaching at the bedside at Rochester General Hospital and in didactic lectures at Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr. Nickels is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Stroke and Neurological Disorders Special INterest Group. Dr. Nickels recently organized a mini course on management of Parkinson's Disease for the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Annual Assembly. Dr. Nickels' clinical interests are in the areas of stroke and geriatric inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient pain management. Her research interests include clinical trials in stroke.
