Computers and computer technology are important tools in medical education, research, and patient care. Computers with Internet access are available at both sites. At St. Mary's, patient demographics and outcomes as well as part of the medical record is computerized, and can be accessed thru any of the 14 terminals on the network and from the outpatient comprehensive rehabilitation center. A statistical analysis package is installed and used for research. At Strong, the PMR division may request statistical consultation from the Department of Biomedical Statistics for help with more complicated designs and analysis.

The Miner Library at Strong is a world-class medical library. A smaller library at St. Mary's contains essential medicine, neurology, and comprehensive PMR references and journals. Both facilities have computerized literature search capabilities, and belong to the interlibrary loan service, which enables users to borrow books and journals from libraries throughout the eastern United States.
