Mission of Service
Working with our patient and his or her treatment team, we provide ECT services that are enriched through teaching.
Target Population
ECT is used to treat severe mood or psychotic disorders, particularly when speed of response is essential; or when patients have failed to respond to other treatments.
Description of Service Providers
A team of dedicated physicians and nurses provide ECT care before, during, and after each treatment, in cooperation with the patient’s family, psychiatrist, and Primary Care Physician.
The other physicians providing ECT services include Dr. Ronald Spurling.
Special Features of Service
We provide electroconvulsive therapy acutely and for maintenance. We are part of the University of Rochester Medical Center and provide exceptional treatment based on the best and most current information.
