Case #07 Radiologic Findings:

  1. Left femoral head is large (Coxa magna) and flattened.
  2. The left femoral neck is short and wide (coxa plana).
  3. Positive "Sagging Rope" sign (a radiodense curved line shadow at the base of the femoral neck). The "Sagging Rope" sign represents a shadow cast by the anterior or lateral edge of the deformed femoral head.
  4. Also, the left hip shows evidence of degenerative joint disease, such as osteophytes. This patient most likely developed degenerative joint disease secondary to the changes in the femoral head caused by the Legg-Calve-Perthes disease that he suffered from during his childhood.
