Case #09 Radiologic Findings:
These images show good filling of the right subclavian and brachiocephalic veins. However, there is a filling defect in the SVC at the area near the inferior tip of the catheter consistent with a thrombus.

The patient was started on Urokinase and Heparin, and scheduled for re-examination in 24 hours. At 24 hours, although there appears to be some dissolution of the thrombus, images clearly show that there is still significant residual thrombus remaining in the SVC. The above therapy was continued.

At 48 hours, the venogram shows unobstructed flow through the SVC and there appears to be no residual clot near the catheter tip. The infusion catheter was removed at this point and the urokinase therapy discontinued.
