Case #10 Radiologic Findings:

The patient had a percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography performed. A needle was used to gain access to the intrahepatic biliary tree at which time contrast was injected into the ducts. Initial contrast injection confirmed that the biliary tree was cannulated. Contrast was continually injected until the entire dilated biliary tree was identifiable.

The PTC shows an obstruction as there is no filling of either the common bile duct or the GI tract distally.

The beaded and dilated appearance of the intrahepatic bile ducts can be noted consistent with sclerosing cholangitis. The margins of the ducts are neither smooth nor narrow indicating the pathologic process.
