| A 17 y/o female complains of an increasingly distended abdomen over the
past 3 months despite weight loss. She has experienced regular, monthly
menstrual cycles. Over the past 24 hours she has experienced RLQ pain, but
denies change in appetite, nausea, vomiting, or abnormal bowel patterns.
She denies the use of oral contraceptives. Upon examination, she is a young,
well- nourished, female who is afebrile and in NAD but has a markedly distended,
tense, rounded abdomen with notable striations. Laboratory values are notable
for CA125 = 28, AFP < 2, and beta-HCG < 5. |
