Leaves of Absence

Go!

Leaves of absence may be taken for academic (fellowships), personal, or health reasons. Leaves may be short-term (not exceeding 60 days) or longer, though usually not longer than one year. When a leave is taken for health reasons, the School will require a statement from the treating physician, prior to rematriculation, attesting to the student's suitability to return to the rigors of medical studies. Health insurance benefits do not continue during longer leaves. The financial implications of taking a leave of absence require individual discussion by each student with the Financial Aid Office.
