Student-Sponsored Symposium
University of Rochester medical students have an opportunity to plan and carry out an annual topic-oriented colloquium for the benefit of the student body, faculty members, other health care professionals, and interested persons from the community. Students select subjects that are broad and of current interest, which may not be covered adequately in the medical school curriculum, but are deserving of additional attention. They may recruit nationally known figures to participate in this annual event. Recent topics have included "Health Care for the Homeless", "Alternative Medicine," and "Business Aspects of Medicine." The Medical Education Office provides guidance and administrative support to students as they carry out this activity. |
