- Panel discussion: "Quality Healthcare and the Deaf Community" presented at the UR Medical Center for students, faculty and staff
- Medical school course: "Intermediate ASL for Medical Professionals"
- Programs for deaf high school students: "Health Careers Awareness" fair, and a two-part "Healthcare Consumer Education" project
- American Public Health Association national conference: Formal presentation of PAH's purpose and the accomplishments of each chapter at the November 1997 conference
- Community education: PAH, MD at the UR publishes a health information column in Deaf Rochester News, a bimonthly news magazine
- Cross-cultural and cross-lingustic education: Deaf Strong Hospital was a unique role-play exercise for First Year medical students. Deaf volunteers played the role of healthcare providers, while students pretended to be patients and attempted to access healthcare services at the 'deaf hospital' without resorting to spoken English.

There are currently 4 chapters of PAH, MD at medical schools in the US. They are located at the Medical College of Virginia, Tufts University, the University of Virginia, and the University of Rochester.
The interests and needs of the local Deaf and hard of hearing communities around each of these institutions are different. Each PAH, MD chapter has evolved to meet some of the unique needs of its medical students and deaf and hard of hearing individuals in their local communities.
